Adolfo is the first candidate for Student Body President to garner sufficient support.

The Adolfo Alvarez for SBP campaign today announced that we have collected over 1,350 student signatures on Adolfo’s petition to appear on the ballot for UNC’s next student body president. This includes nearly 400 signatures from Graduate and Professional students, a record for recent campaigns. These signatures were collected in just 4 days thanks to the extraordinary efforts of our 40 devoted canvassers.

 

This means that when the Board of Elections releases the list of Certified Candidates on Wednesday, Adolfo Alvarez will be on there. Tar Heels will have the option of voting for Adolfo on the ballot in a little over two weeks.

Now, the campaign’s attention turns to earning the support of UNC students. The student body is tired of a student government that serves its own interests and fails to deliver progress. Adolfo is the only candidate in this race who is not part of student government, and that’s exactly what Carolina needs right now. Adolfo has a track record of delivering success, organizing Model United Nations conferences with over 600 students, and running marketing for a startup. Adolfo knows what it means to have to actually deliver for stakeholders, and he is ready to do that for all Tar Heels. We are confident that the student body is ready for a change and that our campaign will resonate with the voters.
